The Healthy Supper Club

5 Comments Healthy Eating, Healthy Events, Tampa

If you don’t know where Whole Foods is in Tampa, you have been living under a rock. They have been huge supporters of what Fit Kids Playground is doing in Tampa and we love what they do overall as a company. Here is some information about their “Healthy Supper Club” for September 21st at 6pm. Great deal, healthy amazing food for a great cause.

“We still have a few spots left for the Supper Club for a Cause at Whole Foods Market tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 6pm. For those who have not heard we are currently raising money for the Whole Kids Foundation to provide grants for school and community gardens. School gardens provide great opportunities to teach kids about healthy eating, ecology, math skills, and science in a dynamic, interactive setting.

On the 21st (tomorrow) at 6pm we will be sitting down to a wonderful four course Health Starts Here Supper in the cafe at the Tampa store.
This delicious meal will feature Medditeranean style dishes such as…..

Vegan stuffed Portabella Mushrooms

Classic Greek Salad with Heirloom Tomatoes, olives, red peppers, and other veggies served over Multicolored potato salad.

Eggplant and Artichoke Tangine over Lemon Rice

Chocolate Walnut Torte

All this unbelievable, high quality, healthy food for only $20! All of which goes to help create school gardens!

This will be a great opportunity to get out and enjoy some amazing food, learn some healthy, delicious recipes, and meet other people who are thriving on the road to health.
All of this while raising money for a great cause.

Please forward this out to anyone you know who might like to join us.
The more folks who come out to support this, the more we can educate kids about the source of their food.

Balancing physical activity and a healthful diet is the best recipe for health and fitness. Set a goal to be physically active at least 30 minutes every day — this even can be broken into three 10-minute sessions throughout the day, so if kids eat healthy they will keep doing it until they are senior citizens, and this can increase their overall health, for example in Home Care Assistance in Beverly Hills they are introducing a health nutrition  package for them to take to their homes.

For someone who is currently inactive, it’s a good idea to start with a few minutes of activity, such as walking, and gradually increase this time as they become stronger. And always check with a health-care provider before beginning a new physical activity program.
