Beat the heat and uncover the best nighttime events at top attractions
Tampa, Fla. (June 20, 2013) – Florida residents should take a drive to Unlock Tampa Bay this summer, where the top attractions are celebrating after the sun goes down and the average nighttime temperature is 80 degrees.
Busch Gardens is hosting its annual Summer Nights every night through August 18. The event includes Cheetah Hunt with a new twist after dark, the Kinetix music and acrobatics show on the Gwazi Park Stage, and a nightly fireworks finale.
For a more tropical feel, Adventure Islands’ Island Nights will run every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night through August 10 offering live entertainment, games on the beach, tropical cuisine and island fun for the entire family.
The Florida Aquarium’s Summer Fun Nights offers extended hours and discounted admission on select Thursday evenings through August 8. See a performance by The Florida Aquarium Mermaids or experience the sunset and Tampa Bay’s wildlife on a Wild Dolphin Cruise.
Lowry Park Zoo’s Summer Safari Nights, June 29 and July 13, include family-fun where the zoo will stay open until 8 p.m. June 29 will feature a special ladybug release and July 13 will celebrate Fairytales & Frogs in honor of frog conservation. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite fairytale character and enjoy unlimited rides, special animal encounters and refreshments.
Celebrate July 4 and watch a firework extravaganza on the water from Channelside starting at 9 p.m. The fireworks can also be viewed from the Florida Aquarium and includes family-friendly entertainment, all-American themed dinner options and patriotic goodies.
For adults, relax at the Sail Pavilion’s Brews & Bites on the nights of July 12, August 9 and September 13. The waterfront bar will feature food trucks, live entertainment and craft beers at the Beer Garden.
